Pay and Remuneration
As mentioned earlier, an HR manager is paid quite handsomely. A fresh professional can earn anything between Rs. 2.5 lakhs and Rs. 5 lakhs per annum whereas a mid-level manager can make around Rs.8 lakhs to Rs.14 lakhs. Senior Managers can go anywhere upwards of Rs.25 Lakhs per Annum.

T.V. Rao, is regarded as ""The Father of Indian HRD"", A new Human Resource Development system emerged in India in 1974 with Dr. T.V. Rao and Dr. Udai Pareek heading the movement. It was started as a ""Review Exercise of the Performance Appraisal System"" for L&T by the duo from the Indian Institutes of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) which resulted in the development of a new function - The Human Resources Development Function. Dr. Rao and Dr Udai Pareek were instrumental in setting up the HRD Department for L&T and making it the first company in this part of the world to have fully Dedicated HRD Department.
Dr. Rao is also the founder president of the National HRD Network and the Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Sciences (ISABS).
Dr.Santrupt Misra, has had full-time professional work experience with the J.K. Group, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hindustan Lever Limited. Besides, he has been a trainer and consultant to about 40 organizations in India. Santrupt has published one book and several articles. He has won a Commonwealth Scholarship in 1990 for 3 years and was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship in the year 2000. Currently, Dr. Misra is the Director on the Aditya Birla Management Corporation Limited Board, the apex decision making body of the Aditya Birla Group and is also responsible for the Group Human Resources and Group Information Technology function of the Aditya Birla Group.
