Graduates in any discipline and students awaiting their degree examination results are eligible to apply for admission to the ACJ.
The short listed candidates will have to take entrance examination. the entrance test includes two parts, (a) to test the applicant’s English language skills and facility and (b) the awareness of current affairs and general knowledge. It will also test the candidates’ writing ability and assess their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
After the entrance test the students have to appear for an interview.
The students of PG Diploma can transfer the diploma credits to Cardiff University and on successful completion of an additional dissertation, be awarded the University’s M.A Degree in Journalism.
Graduate students who have completed the ACJ Diploma in Journalism are eligible.
This, in effect, provides students of the ACJ a unique opportunity to acquire the Masters Degree from the U.K.’s topnotch University and journalism school in only thirteen months, as against the two years required for a postgraduate degree in India.
There are 20 seats at Cardiff University in Wales and 20 seats at ACJ in Chennai for the MA programme for the year 2013-14.
The cost of doing the MA Dissertation Project module in Chennai is £2,250
The cost of doing the MA Dissertation Project module in Cardiff is £3,000 plus accommodation and living.
These fees are to be seen against the cost of doing the whole MA in Cardiff, which is £16,025 plus accommodation and living.
