Introduction

What is audiology?
Audiology is an allied health science, which deals with the study of hearing disorders and its management with non medical aids and rehabilitation strategies.
Who is an audiologist?
Audiologists are experts in the non-medical management of the auditory and balance systems. They identify and assess the hearing and balance problems and dispense hearing aids and other systems to manage the condition. In big industries where there is large scale noise pollution, audiologists do hearing conservation and may plan programs to prevent hearing loss. They work in hospitals or with medical specialists, speech-language pathologists and in educational institutes.
