Artist (Painter)

No strict education requirements but one must have is painting skills and techniques. Many painters study fine arts as subject in graduation and post graduation.

One can begin as BA in Painting (3 years) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) (4 years). 10+2 students of any stream are eligible for these courses.

Diploma in Painting can also be done and the duration is two years.

At the post graduation level the course offered is MFA. The duration of this course is two years. BFA pass students are eligible for MFA course.

Many other short duration courses are also offered by universities and colleges all over India.

Institutions of repute take their own aptitude test/Entrance exam to select students for their courses.

Government universities charge around Rs 25,000 as fee for a year.
