Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Mumbai
The Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Mumbai (IIG) is a leading institute which is actively working in the field of basic and applied research in Geomagnetism. Along with Geomagnetism, the Institute researches on allied areas of Geophysics, atmospheric and space physics and Plasma physics. Established in 1971, it is now under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
OFS manages one of the largest and most versatile fleet in the country - OFS has a fleet of thirteen aircraft, five Cessna 152, five Cessna 172, a Piper Seneca III, a Beech craft King Air C90A and a Beechjet 400. The fleet strength is set to increase in the near future. The Cessna and the Seneca are used for Single and Multi Engine pilot training respectively. The C-90 and the Beech jet are used exclusively for charter operations.
