Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B. A. M. S.) provides basic education in the integrated system of modern medicine and traditional ayurveda. It prepares students of profound scholarship in the science of Ayurveda having basic and fundamental knowledge in different subjects of Ayurveda backed up by extensive practical training. The program enables a student to become an efficient teacher, a research scholar and a competent Ayurvedic physician and surgeon to be able to contribute his mite in the medical and health services. The course is generally 4 and half years duration and 1 year compulsory rotating internship.


The course curriculum is advised by Central Council of Indian Medicine ( CCIM).

The Notification is normally issued in March-April. The Admission is made from the Merit List prepared on the basis of an Entrance Test of Objective Type conducted by the University. Candidates from any part of India is eligible for Admission in NIA. The eligibility is a Pass in Plus 2 Examination with Science Subjects from a recognized Board of Examination. The Total Seats in UG is 92 Per Year. Reservation to SC, ST, OBC and PH as per the Rules of Government of India is available for Indian nationals.

The Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University was established by DSRRAU Act -2002 (Act No. 15 of 2002) which came into force w.e.f. may 24, 2003 vide Gazette Notification no. F25 (6) Ay. /2000 dated May 24,2003. This university has now affiliated all the 44 colleges/institutions of Ayurved, Unani, Homeopathy. This university is conducting the admission to its degree courses through Joint Entrance Test at National level/ State level. The university has its own constituent college of Ayurved, constituent DAN & P training center and Herbal farming center.
  4. BHU BHU Offers BAMS, BNYS, MD Ayurveda and other Diploma and CeiIn BAMS course 50 seats are there and the course is of 5 years duration. Followed by internship. BHU conducts ts own entrance exam for admission.
