The notification for JEE main 2015 is out so lets understand JEE Main 2015 better.
JEE Main 2015 will be conducted for admissions to various undergraduate engineering programs at NIT’s, IIIT’s and other centrally funded technical institutions. JEE Main 2015 will also be the eligibility test for JEE advanced 2015.
This year Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Odisha states have decided to join the JEE main fold and thus admissions to engineering colleges in these states will also be held through JEE main 2015. These states will not hold any other separate entrance exam for the admissions.
The first thing is that the form can be filled only online there is no offline application form. The test can be taken online as well as offline, in India and abroad also. Other than many Indian cities the test will be conducted in Colombo, Kathmandu, Singapore, Bahrain, Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh and Sharjah.
The paper pencil based test will be held on 4th April 2015 and in online format the test will be held on 10th and 11th April 2015.
Just like last year the Paper 1 for B Tech admissions can be taken online as well as offline while Paper 2 for B Planning and B Arch can be taken only in the offline format.
Paper 1 for BE/ B Tech course admissions will cover physics, chemistry and mathematics and will be of 3 hours duration. Candidates with Physics, mathematics and one language and total 5 subjects are eligible for B E/ B Tech course.
Paper 2 for B Planning/ B Arch course admissions will have mathematics part I and Aptitude Test Part II and Drawing Test Part III. This paper will also be of 3 hours duration. Candidates with mathematics along with 50% marks in total including 5 subjects are eligible for B Planning/ B Arch course.
Three attempts can be availed by candidates.
Like last year weightage will be given to board marks obtained by students and it has been decided that for the purpose of admission to CFTIs the JEE Mains performance and the Normalized Board performance will be used in the 60:40 ratio.
Score and Result for JEE (Main) - 2015
I. The score of Paper-I of JEE (Main) – 2015 for all candidates will be declared by 27th April 2015. This score shall comprise the actual marks obtained in Paper-I of JEE (Main) – 2015 along with the status
of those who qualify for appearing in JEE (Advanced) – 2015 provided and subject to other conditions of eligibility being met.
II. Separately, on the basis of score in JEE (Main)-2015 and normalised score in Class 12th or equivalent qualifying exam (60% & 40% weightage respectively), separate rank lists will be prepared for admission to B.E./B. Tech. and B. Arch/ B. Planning (in institutions other than IITs). This will be declared by 7th of July 2015. JEE (Main)-2015 Rank Card indicating All India Rank, State Rank and Category Rank with total marks and marks in each paper will be available on JEE (Main) website after the declaration of result.
